The
national flag of Ireland is a tricolor consisting of three equal sized vertical
stripes: green, white and orange. The orange stripe represents the Protestants
of Ireland and the green represents the Catholics of the country. The white
represents the peace that eventually come between them.
The coat of
Ireland is the official coat of arms of the Republic of Ireland from November
9, 1945. It consists of an escutcheon azure with a golden harp with silver
strings, thus consolidating the tradition of Gaelic harp, clarsach call, as the
traditional heraldic emblem of Ireland. His official heraldic description is:
In field of azure, a harp of gold silver rope.
